Ah! You guys! How has it been so long since I've blogged last?! The last few weeks, and months really, have gotten away from me and the blog has really fallen by the wayside. I hope you are all doing well and enjoying the holiday season that is quickly approaching. Here's what we've been up to recently:
At the beginning of October (I think, ha! I honestly can't remember the date) we drove to Greenville to spend the day and get our Christmas card / anniversary photos taken. Murph missed out on the Christmas photos last year, so we were sure to include the crazy fella this year. We got some great photos and had a nice fall day strolling around Greenville. Murph was crazy on the car ride, per usual, but he did a pretty good job walking around down town. He was out like a light after a long day on the road.
Speaking of Christmas cards, we used Vista Print for ours again this year and they came in a little over a week ago. We are set on cards, now to address and get in the mail in a couple of weeks!
We are hosting Thanksgiving at our house for part of Josh's family this weekend and I have been working hard to get everything in order. We've done all our food shopping, now just to clean the house really well and decorate! I LOVE HOSTING DINNERS so obviously, I can't wait to feed my in-laws and have them in our home to celebrate a holiday. I'm trying my hand at a turkey again this year, and feeling fairly confident after my bird turned out well last go round. Here's to hoping everything is a good this year as it was for friendsgiving last year! Mom and dad handed down their china to me and Josh after we got married, and we haven't had a big event to use it for yet, nor much storage but we went and picked it all up last weekend to use for Thanksgiving. The set was short a few salad plates and bowls, so I looked on eBay and found the exact number of each that we needed to complete the set! I can't wait until they come in. I'm over the moon to have moms china and have these pieces that have been passed down.
I'm getting so excited for Christmas and can't wait until we get to put up our tree and decorate the outside of the house after Thanksgiving. I always say it, but this is just such a fun time of year and it always sneaks up on me. Holiday outings and events have already started around town and last week we spent a night out with friends strolling through shops, listening to carolers and having a nice dinner. This week at work we are participating in a fun holiday event to really kick start the season, so we are hard at work turning our place into a winter wonderland!
I hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving and enjoys time with their family!
