Woah buddy, two months late in sharing our 4th of July. Better late than never, right? The fourth of July was a hot one but we made the most of it with a cookout, a little corn hole and then a retreat inside while we watching the hot dog eating contest that was on TV...I could have done without the hot dog eating contest, but the men were controlling the remote ;)
I love a good party and putting small touches on things to make them festive, of course the fourth was no different. We kept things simple and did hamburgers and hot dogs, homemade funfetti cupcakes and a fun fruit and cheese tray in the colors and shape of the American flag. Also, Murphy showed us his best corn hole moves, I had no idea he could play ;)
To be budget conscience for parties while still trying to add a fun flare, I always use Pinterest to find a few fun and free printables. All of the ones I used for this party, I just printed on a regular printer on standard printer paper. I have a few of the black frames with the white mat laying around that are perfect to use for parties. I think I got them at KMart a few years ago for something like $5 a piece and I have certainly gotten my money's worth out of them!
For the homemade funfetti cupcakes I used this recipe. (Both the cupcake and icing recipe, they turned out great and everyone loved them! So easy to make too.)
