I'm not 100% sure to start with life updates, so we'll just jump right in. If you're a follower of my instagram you'll notice that I recently made an announcement about a job move. If you've been following my blog for any length of time, you know that I announced a job move about 7 months ago. I left my job at the law firm and made my move into the event industry at a venue nestled on the river in Columbia. In all transparency, I knew right out of the gate that the event industry was not for me. But I stuck it out to see if my mind changed at all, and sure enough, it didn't. So when I was approached by one of my best friends about her dad looking for someone to fill a marketing position at his company, I jumped. March was a little bit of a tough month for me, job wise. I was pretty frustrated most of the month, and then when the time came for me to announce that I was leaving, I was overwhelmed with sadness for leaving my co-worker. Only two of us worked at the venue, so when you work so closely with someone and it's the two of you that make all the magic happen, it's hard to walk away from that person. However, I knew that I had to look out for myself and my family and I needed to make the move to exit the event industry. I'm so thankful that the Lord brought me this new job opportunity and I begin my new position on Monday.

My last week at the venue I got to attend at state bridal conference and learned so much from the professionals in the industry, had great food, great mimosas, and a beautiful day. |
Yesterday when working in the yard I planted two hydrangea bulbs and I am desperately hoping I get two beautiful bushes out of those babies! I've also been pouring over our deck space this week and it has come together so beautifully. We use our deck constantly during the warm months of the year, so I make it as homey and welcoming as possible, like an extension of our living room. Our deck is extremely weathered and worn, and it's at the top of our to-do list this spring to refinish and stain it. I also planted new flowers in the front and back yard. I love flowers...and probably spend too much money on flowers :)...but the way they spruce up a space is totally worth it. This year we've got the inside of our home just how we want it, so we're really focusing on the yard and have a mile long to-do list that we hope to tackle, little by little.
Looking ahead, I'm over the moon to be spending some quality time with my mom on Friday, a shopping trip anyone?! And this weekend is Mackenzie's wedding, so happy to see her heart so full and ready for marriage! Then Easter on Sunday, the celebration of Easter just stirs in my heart and another reason I've been so thankful for this week off is because it's Holy Week and I have been able to start my days off slowly and in the Word, preparing to celebrate the risen King on Sunday. Next week I start my new job and we are going to The Masters on Wednesday, I'm beside myself with excitement. The Augusta National is one beautiful place and I can't wait to spend the day with that sweet man of mine enjoying some golf. Fingers crossed for beautiful weather.
Happy April!
