Happy (rainy) Wednesday, friends! We're half way through the work week, insert emoji praise hands here. Speaking of work, my new job is going great. I'll update on that soon!
A week ago Josh and I headed to one of our very favorite places to visit, the Augusta National. We were fortunate enough to get tickets to the Wednesday practice round (thanks, Mom!) of The Masters this year. If I had to guess, after Josh's love for me and Murphy, then comes The Masters, ha! We actually both really enjoy golf and slightly obsess over this tournament each year. If you ever have the chance to go, do not let it pass you by! To get Masters tickets, unless you got on the list back in the '80s like Josh's dad and grandad did as badge holders, you have to put your name into a lottery to get practice round tickets and badges. So it's always fun to get that email in the summer notifying you if you got chosen.
Lucky for us, Wednesday is the day of the Par Tee competition, which is a lot of fun to watch. The
pros usually have their kids, parents, or wives caddie for them. Tiger Woods had his kids Sam and Charlie as his caddie's and Lindsey Vonn was walking the course with them as well. Bubba Watson had his son Caleb and his wife caddying for him. While we were out on the Par 3 course, Jack Nicklaus even made a hole in one. I love to hear the crowd roar at Augusta. We also had great weather but it was a bit unseasonably warm and truly felt like a day in late May...90 degrees and hot hot hot. We got smart this year as opposed to our 2013 visit and sunscreened up before the blaze of the day.
It was so nice to have a day off during the week to spend with each other and enjoy the day on the course. While we were there I think we went in the golf shop approximately fifteen times...I'll let you guess whether we came home with full or empty wallets. The thing about The Masters is, you can only get their stuff at the Augusta National, you can't order it. With that being said, you have to come prepared to drop a chunk of change, if you have your eye on anything. Of course we had our eyes on hats, dog collars, Christmas ornaments, prints, shirts, ties, the list goes on and on.
Another wonderful year at The Masters in our book and I hope we are fortunate enough to go many, many more times. We were so glad to see Jordan Spieth bring home the green jacket this year. He seems so wise beyond his years, is so well put together and always speaks well on camera. I think he has a very long, successful career ahead of him and I'm excited to follow along. Also to note, Josh loves... L O V E S...Tiger Woods. And although he tied for 17th in the tournament, he played decent golf last week, which made Mr. Colvin very happy. And I can't lie, I'm always giving Tiger extra cheers...despite his personal life, he is a legend in the golf world.
I hope the rest of your week is filled with sunshine ladies, we could definitely use some around these parts!
