Mackenzie's Bridal Shower + Bachelorette

A few Saturdays ago, Sarah and I hosted a bridal shower for Mackenzie at my house. We've been planning for awhile and were excited to throw Mackenzie a great shower. Mom and I did the flower and food shopping Thursday night. We spent quite a bit of time in the flower section at Trader Joe's...I love their flowers! I really wanted to use a bunch of fresh flowers around the house. They not only make the house smell so good, they just add a touch of elegance and class to everything! We picked out a few of our favorite bunches. I'm so glad we decided to do our running around on Thursday night, so that on Friday I could spend the evening cleaning the house and decorating, so that Saturday morning all I had to do was get the food ready. Smart thinking mom ;)

We had a variety of food and you'll notice that our tea sandwiches were in the shape of hearts...as well as some of the cheese! To me, it's the littlest details that make for a great party. Sarah and I tried our hand at making a cupcake bridal gown and I think we did pretty well. We didn't go extravagant with the icing, but I think it still turned out nicely. We had punch and infused water, trail mix, veggie and fruit trays, and petit fors (a favorite of mine;)!

We had everyone write Mackenzie one of their favorite recipes, and the recipe cards matched the invitation. For favors, we handed out sachet for people to put in their cars or closest to add a great fragrance. I found these particular ones at Kirklands and they are too cute!

Pictures of Mackenzie and Sam were all around the house and we hung an "F" on the front door in honor of the soon-to-be Mrs. Fulmer.

Mackenzie, we hope you had a great time and know just how much you are loved! We hope you and Sam have a great start to married life and that the Lord blesses you immensely.

And this past weekend we headed to Asheville for the weekend to celebrate her Bachelorette! We stayed at the gorgeous Posh Boutique Hotel in the Biltmore Village in a stunning townhouse, all of our mouths dropped opened when we walked in the door. The townhome was huge, had two massive living areas, a great dining room and kitchen, two large bedrooms and bathrooms upstairs and such beautiful furniture and finishing's...like a granite fire place! We could not have asked for a better place to stay! We spent our time shopping in the village shops, visiting the Biltmore home and gardens and of course wine tasting! Saturday night we went to the Grove Park Inn and had dinner at the Sunset Terrace, and as always the food and the view did not disappoint. Now we're less than two weeks away until this little lady is married!
