Let Them Eat Cake: Cake & Tosses

Hey friends! It's my first post of the new year, whoop whoop! I think it's fitting that I post about my favorite memory in 2013 as my first post in 2014. There are only 2 more wedding recaps after this one...sad day, I know. But I'm so happy to have been able to share our wedding day with you and my heart fills with happiness each time I publish a wedding post. I hope the beginning of this new year has been nothing but good to you!

At our reception we had a sweetheart table set up in the middle of the ballroom (which I totally recommend) and my sweet aunt had fixed us plates and they were waiting on us when we got done with our first dance. This was a great time for Josh and I to really look around and soak in our reception and get a bite or two of food...which is literally all we got because so many people came up to talk to us, but we didn't mind! I was shoveling food in my mouth like a crazy woman and boy was it good! After we ate, a couple of songs played and then we did our father/daughter and mother/son dances.
After our dances the DJ played more music and we mixed and mingled then we signed our wedding license and cut the cake. Holy goodness our cake was delicious, it was a pound cake, one layer chocolate, one regular and alternating. We struggled juuuuust a touch getting it cut but we finally made progress :) I could have sat there and eaten that entire cake, I kid you not. Then we toasted and the party kept moving.

Later in the night I did my bouquet toss, which my bridesmaid Kellie caught, you go girl!! And Josh did the garter toss which his little brother Phillip caught!
