Color Blocking Attempt

In my many efforts to keep up my self-proclaimed fashionista status, this weekend I did a lot of shopping and filled my closet with new, trendy, and "it" fashions for the spring and summer.

I jumped on the color block train yesterday for church.

Let's just say, I now adore this outfit.
The shoes and necklace are from my favorite, Cato.
The skirt if from who-knows-where like 3 years ago.
The top is from JCPenney...a whoppin' $13 bucks, oh yes.

This is the beginning of my color blocking adventure, do you approve? I hope so!

Remember to go HERE to enter my giveaway, you still have lots of time people! Get to entering!

Also, my first official day of summer was fabulous :) Oh and be happy, now that I am home my outfit photos can be taken outside and by a real person! Not inside my dorm with my camera timer...movin' on up.

Happy Monday loves!

High Five for Friday

I have been a lame-o the last few weeks and not linked up for High Five for Friday but alas, I am back today! Lauren @ From My Grey Desk

Photobucket

Let's waste no time and get this show on the road shall we?

And we're off...

1.
Today is the last day of the semester, it.is.OVAH

2.
Today starts 4, yes FOUR, months of summer. And for four months I won't have residents knocking on my door all times a night, high heels clicking and doors slamming on Thursday nights, residents fighting with each other. Finally, some peace! Classes to go to everyday, 4 jobs to manage, assignments to turn in, it is going to be heaven, heaven I tell you.

3.
I have to spend one extra night at school because of one of my residents (boooo) but that means Mom and I are going to have a slumber party in my empty dorm room tonight!
4.
I picked out what I'm going to giveaway when I hit 100 followers...exciting!

5.
This might be a little ugly, so I do apologize but today is about honesty...I am SO glad, so so so glad, to get a couple months break from the craziness of school and those who irk my nerves (to no end) while I am here.

HALLEJUAH!

Happy Friday friends!

Doin' my Hurrr

I hate wearing my hair the same way everyday, I just hate it. I experiment with it just about everyday. So by the grace of God I found Kate's blog about 5 months ago, The Small Things Blog. Girl knows how to do some hair, I tell you what

She is a great teacher, her videos are easy to follow, and if I can make my hair look somewhat like hers, anybody can.

We had our Student Life Awards Banquet last week and I wanted to wear an up-do. Well I followed Kate's video that you can find here

And here is how it turned out, and let's be honest real quick...it is HARD for me to photograph my hair...and I use a ridiculous amount of bobbi pins, so enjoy :)

Disclaimer: I am no hair stylist, obvi haha

And my outfit, just for fun :)

Tomorrow begins my summer...I can hear the angels singing.

One Hundo

Believe it or not, I WON a giveaway yesterday. I could hardly believe it, I don't usually win things very often so to win this giveaway, I was ecstatic, you have no idea. I was on the phone with my mom like screaming and being as dramatic as possible because I was so excited.

I won the giveaway from 3 beautiful bloggers go check them out KatieSarah, and Dayna. They all have awesome blogs, they are definitely worth the read. The giveaway I won was ridiculously awesome, I kid you not. I.am.stoked1

You might remember a few months ago I said I was going to do a giveaway when I hit 100 followers, well folks we're getting close! Encourage any and everyone you know to head over to Every Day Life so we can get a giveaway going!

I'm really excited...and have no idea of what I'm going to giveaway but I am quite sure that I can come up with something fab-u-lous!

Oh and I took my last exam this morning, sophomore/kind of junior year of college is OVAH! Now to move out these residents, clean out this room, and Hellllllooooo Columbia and Summmmmer!

When you see this lovely lady, you know it's giveaway time! Keep your eyes peeled.

Old Lady Cream

when you see this do you automatically think of an old lady? I do but old lady or not, this baby is the junk.
I bought a jar of this about a week ago...and I'm in love.

I wash my face in the shower with Cetaphil cleanser and then right before I go to bed I put a layer of cold cream on my face, rub it in good, wet a rag and wipe in circles, then rinse it off.

And voila, a face as smooth as a baby's butt and all makeup is G.O.N.E.

Right after I started using this my face was smoother and clearer, it really cleansed my skin of all my makeup and grossness during the day. I'm diggin' it.

Old lady cream, you are the bomb.

Task for the day: go to your local drug store and buy yourself a jar of cold cream, it will change your life.

And Vaseline is the cure all for chapped lips, used some last night and my lips are like new today, perfection.

By the way, Josh just told me he wants to act in soap operas...I hate soap operas....I hate to crush his dream, but he shall have to find a new life path....haha!

Oh and I didn't have to set an alarm this morning, it.was.glorious.

Happy Tuesday friends!

All Ovah The Place

is how this post is going to be today, bare with me friends.

FIRST

I AM DONE WITH SCIENCE CLASSES FOR THE REST, yes the rest, OF MY LIFE. NEVER AGAIN WILL I THINK, STUDY, DO ANYTHING WITH SCIENCE.
geology, kiss it.

Okay, now that that's off my chest it would probably help if I told you that it's exam week. Boooo exams, HALLEJUAH summer begins on Friiiday Friiiiday, gonna start my summer on Friiiiday (oh Rebecca Black).

This is what I looked at all weekend, I kid you not, ALL weekend.

Who, tell me WHO, can remember ALL that information? No one. No.One.

It was no fun, at all. But no worries, it's allllll over now. And I swear, I thought exam week would be laid back and not that bad (after I got this exam out of the way) because I only have 2 exams this week...but oh no. I have 2 banquets, residents to check out, a room to pack up, meetings to go to. I swear, the madness will NOT stop until I have left to go home.

Speaking of packing...this room...oh bless us all. I'm dreading packing all this crap up and I'm coming RIGHT back to this same exact room next year, so I have to haul it all home to bring it all back to the same spot again. Bless it. I have too much stuff.

Ok, enough of that here is reason number two that I am so excited today

THEY ARE HAVING A BABY!!!!!!!!!!! OH MY GAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You have NO idea my excitement, I can't WAIT for their baby to get here. I love these two like nobody's business, and that is no joke. They make my life. I mean seriously, who is better than these two?!?! (Besides Josh and I of course, but they run a very close second, hahahaha)

Oh, a baby! A little Rancic!

Ok, enough of that too, I'm spazzy today, I apologize.

I also have 40 residents to move out of my building. They better hit the road ASAP after their exams, I am not playing games with these children. Exams over=You leaving, I'm not checking everybody out of this building on Friday, no way jose.

And it's freezing here today, what the heck man ?!?! It's April...late April, summer starts Friday, getcha act together weather. I'm not playing with you either.

And sad news, no internship as of now, Lawd. But I did make some connections this past week with possible internship opportunities for the next school year. The Lord will direct my path, that I am certain.

And heavens, I look roooough this week. But no way am I dolling up to pack up this room all day everyday or go sit in a desk to take an exam, sorry folks on campus, no good looks comin' from this direction this week.

Ok, enough of me today. I hope that everyone had a GREAT weekend and has a BEAUTIFUL Monday!

Statements Bags

Happy Thursday friends, almost Friday! Cheers to that!
It's my LAST day of class tomorrow, isn't that crazy? Yes, it is certainly crazy at how fast this year has gone. I can hardly believe it.

Today we shall be discussing statements purses. I got this red bag for Easter and I'm so in love. Quick story on this bag: my mom and I were in Stein Mart and I was desperately wanting a new purse. So I'm searching all the bags and they have like zero cute ones, I was quite disappointed and surprised by their selection. I was just about to give up when I said I'd try the very last rack in my last attempt and lo and behold they had two bags I loved! I walked around the store with both of them, modeled them in the mirror, modeled them for mom, had her model them and walk around the store, I just could not decide. When you can't decide, what do you do?

Why of course you buy one and mom buys one, hahaha! I bought myself one bag and I con'ed mom into buying the red one for Easter...she hadn't made my Easter basket yet so technically I was helping her out and saving her some trouble.

So I finally got my bag on Easter and retired the one that I bought (that is very cute as well) and started carrying this gem. I hope you like it as much as I do!

I love love love the shape and the bold red.

Are you carrying a bold bag for summer?

And by the way, I love the E! channel, I mean really love it but for crying out loud E! stop playing Knocked Up 12 times a day 500 times a week!

Campus Book Rentals

I'm sure everyone is quite aware, but if you weren't let me inform you

college text books are ex.pen.sive.

My first semester in college my poor naive self dropped $700 on books, I was in shock at the counter at the bookstore. Needless to say, after that semester I learned my lesson and never did that again.

This is no joke, books can break the bank and half the time, you might not even use them in the class. Let me introduce you to a GREAT place and resource for college book essentials

This site is a life saver in the world of college students. Here you are able to save 40%-90% off bookstore prices, FREE shipping both ways, you're able to highlight in the textbooks (which is awesome when trying to study), flexible renting periods, AND they donate to Operation Smile with each textbook that is rented (that in itself is awesome).

Now that I know you're ready to head over and rent textbooks for the fall semester, let me provide you with the link to the best textbook site on the internet

Go check them out NOW!

CampusBookRentals.com supports
The children of Operation Smile
Operation Smile

"We're ecstatic to announce our 2011 Making a Difference Program. We have officially teamed up with Operation Smile, an out of this world, awesome organization, that performs life changing cleft lip surgeries on children whose families could not otherwise afford it. The long term Improvement in quality of life for the children that receive these surgeries is almost incomprehensible. We have committed to donating enough to cover a minimum of 1,000 life changing surgeries. We hope To beat that number, but it's a significant commitment.

So for EVERY book rented starting now, we will donate a portion of those proceeds to Operation Smile with our sights set on meeting and exceeding our goal of 1,000 lives changed. So add that extra book to your cart, and consider this goal as you go back to school this year. Thank you for your support."- CampusBookRentals.com

Fedora

I finally wore my fedora today and I'm in loooove with it! I can't wait to sport it this summer and wear it at the pool and beach!

I found this pretty thing over spring break at Burlington for $12.99. They had a ton to choose from and I feel like you can find them anywhere right now, they are so popular.

As usual, I love stepping outside of the box...and that is not hard to do in a small southern town...I feel like everyone looks the same! haha So I like to mix it up every now and again.

Heck, I like this hat so much...I think I need more colors!

I paired it with a white flowered tank and black linen pants...have I mentioned how much I loooove linen pants?!

Do you have a fedora? Do you like them?

P.S. Canon has got to fix this camera and crazy lines...soon!

Happy Tuesday loves!

It's Here

you're probably thinking...what is here?
Well let me tell you...

THE LAST WEEK OF CLASSES HAS ARRIVED HALLEJUAH THANK YOU JESUS!

Is this real life?!? Have I almost finished my second year of college with just one more to go before I'm a college graduate?!? You bet I have.

This week is jam packed with presentations and projects and meetings and banquets and everything else under the sun...funny how everyone likes to plan everything on the same week huh? But nevertheless, I don't care HOW busy this week is...it's the last week of classes and that makes my one happy girl.

If I can make it through my Geology exam next Monday, I'll be one happy camper. Heavens to betsy I'm so happy I'm almost finished and summer is almost upon me. YEAH!

Now, for real life news. I am still on the hunt for internships...rejection and I have spent a lot of time together this week and quite frankly...it has sucked. But I told Josh the other day "maybe I'll have a lot of rejection stories that lead up to a great success story". A little rejection won't stop me, I'm still on the hunt and sending in applications and following up with people.

But reality does set in every now and then and the thought of what if I don't get an internship this summer, what am I going to do? Do I want to job hunt or just relax and enjoy my last summer of freedom?! haha (I have a job on campus by the way, which will keep me busy 3 weeks and pays so I wouldn't be THAT big of a bum lol)

So we shall see where the road takes me. Fingers crossed it's something magnificent

In other news, I haven't done much sponsoring swapping lately, so if you're interested, contact me! It is free free free and simple as can be. Check out the Sponsor tab on the right side of my page under my about me blurb.

Oh yeah, have I mentioned I hate Geology and after Monday I won't EVER have to take science again in my life? Just making sure you knew

In honor of school almost being ovaaaah here is me on the last day of my Freshman year last year:

and move in day this year

My how time flies!

Oh and real quick, do any of you guys have a Canon camera? I have a Canon PowerShot Sx150 IS and it has started putting these lines across my images and they won't go away and it's make me a little sad and frustrated. Has this happened to any of y'all? Has anyone had to get their Canon repaired or replaced? Are they easy to work with?

Happy Monday!

Weekend Love

The weekend is almost over already?!?! Here is my Weekend Love. I'm linking up with Melissa from Grin and Barrett for

This weekend flew by, I mean literally, flew right on by. I had class on Friday, a mixer for my sorority right after (the theme was boots and feathers, you could either dress like an indian or cowgirl, so cute), recording for orientation this summer, then 4 hour desk duty.

Then Saturday I had to be up and at Junior Day (similiar to Open House) by 7:30, worked that until 1:30, took a nap, then did another 4 hour desk duty 4-8 then had semi formal last night.

And today I'm back on desk duty for another 4 hours today and then before I know it, it'll be time to get up and be back in class tomorrow.

But it was a great weekend overall, here are some pics! By the way, the semi formal theme was southern affair and we had mason jars with chalk board paint on the tops so we could write our names on them so we'd know whose cup was whose :)

A blogger that I really love is hosting a give away. Her name is Lori and she blogs over at a crazy walk on the safe side

Go check out her awesome blog and enter her give away!

Happy Sunday friends :)
