Last week while I was doing my regular blog reading, I saw that Jessica from Lovely Little Things blogged about SOAP'ing and I got totally interested. She got the idea from here.

What is SOAP'ing? It is a way to journal while having your quiet time/devotional time.
S.O.A.P. stands for Scripture, Observation, Application and Prayer. If you click on the link above it takes you to the blog where you can print out a little sheet about S.O.A.P. (I printed it out and put it in the front of my journal so that I would have something to refer to.)
I have only SOAP'ed a few times so far but it is GREAT! Normally I just jot down some random notes after I do my reading or don't write anything at all but with this new system it really makes me think and dive into the scripture. It makes me evaluate how the scripture works in my life and I love that. I encourage everyone to do this! It is really great and has been life-changing for me thus far.

I hope that this encourages you to re-vamp your quiet/devotional time. I promise it is well worth the time it will take you each day and is so rewarding by how much you will get out of reading the Word.

I am also participating in the Photo-a-Day February Challenge

So, since yesterday was February 1st, here is my first photo: My view today
This was my view last night during the basketball game and Spirit Night for Homecoming week!

  1. This is a great idea. I think I will have to try this!

  2. Do it! You will really enjoy it, I promise!

  3. Isn't SOAPing awesome?!
    I love it :)

And I'm stoked about the photo a day challenge, too!

Your sweet comments make my day!
